Associations and Organizations

Pennsylvania Sporting Clays Association - The official Pa state sporting clays association, as recognized by the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA).

Pennsylvania State Sportsmen's Association
Pennsylvania State Sportsmen's Association - Organized on August 2, 1890 in Correy, Pennsylvania. First Pennsylvania State Shoot at Williamsport from September 29 to October 2, 1891. The Pennsylvania Game Commission Evolved from the PSSA in 1895.

Amateur Trapshooting Association
Amateur Trapshooting Association - The ATA was founded in 1900 as the American Trapshooting Association and later changed to the Amateur Trapshooting Association in 1923. The national headquarters is located in Vandalia, Ohio.

National Rifle Association of America
National Rifle Association of America

National Shooting Sports Foundation
National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) - The trade association for the shooting, hunting and firearms industry. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is a not-for-profit organization of more than 3,000 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, sportsmen's organizations and publishers and was founded in 1961.

NSCA
National Sporting Clays Association - (NSCA) National organization founded in 1989 that is dedicated to promoting the enjoyment and development of sporting clays competition.

Colt Collectors Association - Founded in 1980 by a group of avid collectors of Colt firearms and Colt memorabilia, the Association was established for the purpose of promoting collecting and to provide a means of exchanging knowledge among Colt collectors. An annual show and meeting is held for members and guests with an emphasis on a convenient and quality location.

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa
- The Shooting Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands blends sport with nature. Located just south of Pittsburgh in Farmington PA, Nemacolin's sporting clays facility is spread across a 140 acre complex. The Shooting Academy features 30 shooting stations, European pheasant flush fields, towers, fun stations, and five stand pavilions. Seven Springs - Sporting Clays - Seven Springs Sporting Clays complex features three courses, two standard courses and one sub-gauge course, with multiple stations. There is also a practice area with two heated five-stands. The facility will also pay host to a variety of tournaments, private lessons and corporate and non-profit events.

N.S.C.A. Level III Instructor, Mike Mohr meticulously designed two challenging courses and a sub-gauge course that took advantage of the natural beauty of the surrounding Laurel Highlands. Also available is the regulation five-stand, which is an enclosed, heated facility where you can shoot during inclement weather and at night.

Seven Springs' sporting clays course is open year-round. The course is open 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Thursday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Friday - Sunday, weather permitting. Buffer Creek Sporting Clays - The newest shooting facility in the region, Buffer Creek Sporting Clays is easy to find, located north of Somerset, PA. Owned by Mike and Harriet Brendle, it is laid out around the 725 acre Brendle farm, which includes the area's largest Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP). The course was designed by Gary Bloom, one of the top sporting clay course designers in the country.


West Penn Sportsmen's Club - The largest trap and sporting clays club in Western Pennsylvania, West Penn Sportsmen's Club has numerous activities throughout the year that are of interest to the beginning and experienced shooter. West Penn Sportsmen's Club is located on Route 286 (Saltsburg Road) between the Route 380 cutoff and Route 66 in Murrysville, PA.


White Oak Rod & Gun Club - Located in North Huntingdon, PA the facilities are comprised of 65 acres and a club house with a meeting room, kitchen, and indoor 50 ft. range facilities for rifle, pistol and archery. Included are four lighted trap ranges, one lighted skeet range, plus a 100 target clays course, a 30 target 3D archery range, lighted 5 stand range, an outdoor rifle range with covered firing points for 50, 100 and 200 yard targets, an outdoor pistol range with covered firing points for 15, 25 and 75 yard targets and a 50 meter small bore range.
